FAQs
Need to know
Can I bring my kids?
No, this is an adult trip with stops at bars and breweries.
What kind of bike do I need?
Any bike! This is a slow ride—nobody gets left behind. If you don’t have a bike or want a little help, get a Jump Bike for the day!
What else should I bring?
A bike, a bike lock, ID, money/card, sunblock and a helmet (optional but highly recommended).
What if I get a flat or mechanical issue?
We’ll have spare bike tubes and basic tools to get you rolling again. The group should be together when this happens.
I’m kind of out of shape/I don’t ride a bike. is this for me?
You’ll be fine! We’ll go slow and the 13 miles will go by quickly. But stretching and a drink always help.
How are we going to stay together as a group?
No one gets left behind while riding and we'll stay as a group. If you need to stop for whatever reason, yell out! The group will wait for all riders.
How are we going to ensure nobody gets left behind at the bars/stops?
We will arrive and leave each location together and will have a departure time. It will be increasingly difficult to headcount as we go along and each rider will be responsible for themselves and ensuring they are outside and ready to go at the depart times.
what time will we be back?
We plan on being at our last bar by 4ish pm. If you need to leave before then, we will be close to River Park and you can leave ahead of the group.
Can you get a DUI on a bike?
Yes, you can! Each rider is responsible for themselves, including but not limited to exercising individual judgement, ensuring adherence to traffic laws while on the bicycle and for getting home safely after the ride concludes.
The route goes through midtown. will we be riding on busy city streets with cars?
We’ll be riding in midtown for four miles and you most definitely need to be aware of your surroundings, ride your bike responsibly and lawfully and use common sense. However, we have chosen a route that avoids the busiest areas and uses streets with dedicated bike lanes.
and lastly
Drink and bike responsibly! The organizers are not responsible for your actions, nor for getting you home afterward and encourage everyone to plan accordingly. You can always leave your bike at our house and pick up later.
